"Beyond the Pandemic...
the good, the bad, and the tragic....
and how we as an industry can do better for Americans "

Presented by:  John Nelson, Jr
President of Warner Pacific Insurance Service
& Past-President of NAHU, CAHU & LAAHU
(No CE Credit)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This presentation is about the Covid Pandemic, Agents and Single Payer and the lessons learned. John asks 'who got hit hardest and who did OK?' The facts says it was mostly poor people without health coverage (Medical or insurance) who were the sickest and comprise the majority of deaths. John will give a report card on how the heath insurance industry did during the pandemic. High vs Low nurse-to-patient ratios in public hospitals vs private hospitals were vastly different. And as a result, many more Covid patients die in public hospitals than in private ones.

John will bring us a new awareness of the difference in the quality of health care, partly because of widely variant social drives affecting lower income patients, who have fewer well trained people to care for them, thus affecting health outcomes. He says whole segments of the population don't have the same resources for quality health care that many others do have. All of which feeds the fires supporting a Single Payer Health Care System in California. He will suggest ways that agents can help.to improve these terrible conditions for so many Californians.
