2019-20 Meeting Refund Policy:

*Members Only: DCAHU will allow members an ONETIME-PER BUDGET YEAR pass to roll over their lunch fees to the next meeting if they had a TRUE EMERGENCY that came up within 72 hours of the meeting and outside of the regular cancellation policy (72 hrs). If they DO NOT attend the next scheduled luncheon meeting, there will be NO REFUND, even if they have called to cancel that well in advance of the 72 hrs of that meeting.

*Non-Members: DCAHU requires a 72 hours cancellation notice prior to the meeting. Any cancellation made after will not be refunded.

Course Description:
The Family and Medical Leave Act presentation is designed to offer simple insights on how to manage and keep track of FMLA in the work place. This presentation gives an overview of the FMLA, who qualifies and how. The presentation also distinguishes who is covered and who is eligible. Also in this presentation we will address employers' most common questions, including how the Families First Coronavirus Response Act affects employers, determine what measures to take to keep employees safe and comply with the law.

To include a special section highlighting the new current  Covid-19 law requirements especially in the areas of furloughing, benefits continuation, etc, and providing us guidance as to future re-onboarding (90-120 days down the road) of employees that have been on leave (legal requirements, etc.).

Angie Surra, Vice President of Compliance at Navigate HCR, provides a greater avenue of delivering support and knowledge to a larger scope of businesses on compliance issues. She also works internally with the development of the company and success of technology advances.  As compliance changes, Angie ensures clients and brokers are up to date by facilitating education platforms, trainings and is a national speaker and educator.

Angie believes in the urgency of employer compliance issues and health insurance challenges business and individual clients face.  Based on the needs and issues from her clients, she consults and designs the company’s proprietary portal to facilitate ease of use and accuracy.

With over 20 years of experience, Angie has a list of professional designations as a Certified Insurance Counselor, Certified Professional Compliance Advisor, Certified COBRA Administrator, Certified Cafeteria Plan Administrator.  She earned a Master of Arts degree in criminal justice.  Angie is also a licensed Insurance Agent in Property & Casualty Insurance, Life, Accident, & Health Insurance in multiple states.
