About DCAHU

The Desert Cities Association of Health Underwriters (DCAHU) was officially formed as a separate local chapter of NAHU in 2009 by a dedicated group of professionals determined to bring the benefits of the industry's premier agents' trade association to the health insurance agents and brokers in the low desert and the Coachella Valley, as well as all of Riverside County. However, since 1998, there has been a local desert group of Health Underwriters functioning as a satellite chapter of IEAHU (Inland Empire AHU) , with its own board of directors and local meetings and events in the Coachella Valley. And in 2009, this dedicated group of health insurance and brokers evolved into is own desert chapter of NAHU.

DCAHU now boasts a membership of some 70 agents, brokers, and industry representatives. DCAHU is one of 15 local chapters in the state of California, and across the nation. There is a CA state chapter - CAHU (California Association of Health Underwriters), and all local and state chapters in the country comprise the membership in our national organization - NAHU (National Association of Health Underwriters). NAHU has over 20,000 members and was formed back in 1930! Thus all DCAHU members are also members of CAHU and NAHU automatically.

The Future of Employee Benefits:
How every agent can modernize their practice and leverage their client relationships to manage, protect and grow their book of business. It's easier than ever to adopt technology, win business and enhance the value of your practice.

David Reid has over 30 years of experience in the employee benefits and group insurance industry and was one of the earliest adopters of technology as an integral strategy for employers in the late 1990s. Mr. Reid started his career as a group sales representative in 1986 with John Alden Life, and after a short period with Lincoln National Corporation, then became a consultant and agent for Unison Benefits Management.
In 1999, Mr. Reid was among the first to venture into the world of online technology designed for employee benefits enrollment and communication, and in 2005 founded Apprize Technology Solutions and served as President.

In 2012, Mr. Reid co-founded EaseCentral (https://www.easecentral.com/) to create a small group solution that provides the robust eligibility management features previously limited to enterprise solutions used by large employers. After just three years, in 2015 EaseCentral was launched on the West Coast and is among the most widely adopted, fastest growing solution for brokers and employers in the space.
